Review of Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones was a highly popular fantasy television series based on George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. The show aired on HBO and ran for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019. It gained a lot of fame and a massive fan following over the years. However, it also received some criticism, particularly for its final season. As the series progressed, some viewers felt that the pacing became rushed, especially in the later seasons. The reduced episode count for the final seasons resulted in some storylines feeling rushed and unresolved.
While Game of Thrones thrived in character development for much of its run, certain character arcs in the later seasons faced criticism for feeling inconsistent or unfulfilling. "The Iron Throne," divided fans and critics. While some appreciated the emotional side of certain character arcs, others were disappointed by how certain plotlines were left unresolved.
I personally love the show, I discovered it in August of 2022 and fell in love. One of the main reasons I started watching the series was because of the character Daenerys Targaryen. I loved the actress Emilia Clarke and everything she starred in, so starting a show which was labelled as the best fantasy series to ever be released wouldn't do any harm. Iām not surprised when people hate on the writers and series for the last season, because it was quite disappointing. The amount of viewers who invested time each year waiting for a new season drop and putting effort into supporting the show were let down by the mess of a season the last one was.
